“There’s something timeless about the dark rolling melodies of Brother Nothing’s woodsy rock and rasping Americana,” wrote Phoenix Saloon’s Ross Fortune of the gruff, yet tender sound of singer-songwriter Josh Field and Brother Nothing.

Influenced by everything from country and rock to soul, blues, and reggae, the band’s wide-ranging style comes through in its first full-length album, All In My Mind (February 5, 2016). A display of honest writing talent by Field, these songs will put listeners at ease (“Morning Shade”) and leave them taken aback (“Cold, Cold Ground”). Other highlights include the title track, “Nowhere Town,” and “Hippie,” an homage to love and the hypocrisy of denying it.

Centered in the Heart of Texas, Austin became home for Josh Field in 2013. Upon arrival, Field immediately formed and played alongside several bands like the harmonious 6 piece, Driftwood Revival and the traditionally based 3 piece, Groovy Roots. He even played drums for a 2-piece rock band The Broken Hips. About three years ago Josh formed his current band, Brother Nothing and they have been playing their brand of Country Soul Rock & Roll ever since.

2015 was a busy year for the up and coming artist. Field & Brother Nothing and recorded their first album “ALL IN MY MIND” in Austin Texas at Cedar Fever Studios. While completing the finishing touches on Brother Nothing’s debut album Josh teamed up with owner/producer Gary Sadker of Red Ridge Entertainment in Nashville, TN to record his solo EP “Satisfied” which was released in late 2015. The single “Cold Cold Ground” from the EP earned radio play throughout the U.S.

During the “ALL IN MY MIND” album release along with a cross-country tour in 2016, Josh opened for various national touring artists such as Blackberry Smoke, Charlie Robison and Billy Joe Shaver and regional Acts such as Uncle Lucius and The Chubby Knuckle Choir . In early 2017, he and the band teamed up with known Austin producer Kelly Donnelly to record “REASONS FOR CHANGE”

The single “Waiting on a Train” released in early March 2017 followed by a three city support spot with the national touring act Whiskey Myers. REASONS FOR CHANGE is set to be released in late August followed by a two month, coast-to-coast, American tour in September.
